As an Author

Sonia Quiroga Thomas was born in tango land and the best steak in the world: Argentina. She was the only daughter of a young single mom. She started writing at the age of 10, age where she won the "Alfonsina Storni" State Poetry Competition. At 17 she was already working in broadcasting and writing for national newspapers, TV and radio. Two years after she directed her own magazine Educación Social. She graduated in 1998 from Quilmes National University in Broadcasting and Communications. She studied her Masters in Spanish Literature at Brigham Young University. Also in 2005 she won first prize in the Park City Poetry Contest organized by the Kimball Art Center. HoloCuentos & HolyPoesías represents her experiment in creative out-of-the-box thinking by utilizing the hologram concept of creating different realities by moving our mental positions in order to see and to interpreter different things. The only rule she allows herself here is that there are no valid rules for the author. Her fiction challenges and changes the reader's perspective as holograms do. Her poems give multiple ways of reading and creating spaces of entertainment and reflection. The reader will savor this book from beginning to end.

A PIONEER, A VISIONARY, A POWERFUL SOURCE:

At age twelve, she was selling Avon products to pay her high school expenses. At eighteen, she was the owner of her own magazine. In 1997 she had an Internet company in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There were many challenges that followed her successful beginning. In 1998, she was in a rock climbing accident that left her paralyzed in bed for a few months. Upon a thorough recovery, she now considers herself fortunate to have been thrust into this early experience as it developed critical survival instincts. At the time, nothing came easily for her; she learned to make good use of such experiences, to grow stronger, to pump up her adrenalin in the face of obstacles. Because of these and more, she has become skilled at constantly seeking opportunities to serve people in lesser situations than her own. Those who know her well call her unstoppable.
